A Place Fit For Royals – The Hyatt Regency

Let’s turn back the clock of time to three years ago. The Hyatt Regency was formerly known as the Four Points Darling Harbour and although it had a good run it was time for a new life. After receiving a $250 million makeover and extension, Australia’s largest hotel was now ready and opened its sky-high sliding doors to the public.

As you stroll into the open-spaced, bare-stone walled lobby you will find the reception on your right with exceptionally well-mannered staff waiting to make your stay feel just like home. Check in and then explore the lobby lounge located in the heart of the lobby. The semi-secluded and private space are separated by a ceiling-to-floor weaved rope wall that allows you to have just a taste of what the lounge has to offer. A quiet place for you to enjoy a glass of wine, a naughty evening whiskey or that much-needed morning coffee.

An additional 222 sophisticatedly designed premium guestrooms by Cox Architecture were added to the existing 670 rooms. That’s an impressive grand total of 892 rooms fully air-conditioned, featuring refrigerators and iPod docking stations. Flat-screen televisions with cable programming provide entertainment, while the complimentary wireless Internet access keeps you connected. Private bathrooms with showers feature designer toiletries and hair dryers. Conveniences include phones, as well as safes and desks.

In the summer you’ll be lucky enough to catch the beautiful warm sunsets and sunrises from within the cosy rooms with picturesque views of the Darling Harbour. During the colder months of winter, don’t shy away from the city, as there are constant back-to-back events. Surprise your loved one with a weekend away and intimate stay at Hyatt Regency as you’ll be centrally located in Sydney CBD.  An envious location for steps away from the annual and not to miss the VIVID light show. It is within walking distance to the Wildlife Sydney, Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, all the main pit stops for the best light show installation around.

Exit through the crowd and satisfy your appetite at the hotel’s restaurant Sailmaker, which serves lunch and dinner. Adopting a ‘made from scratch’ philosophy try their market fresh table concept. Serving small batches of seasonally inspired dishes in a relaxed and interactive setting. Their delicious Seafood Table treats guests to an array of fresh seafood including oysters and whole roasted fish.  When you’re craving for more on the odd Tuesday, visit the Lobby Lounge for champagne and oysters from 5 pm for $20 every Tuesday.

Lucky for us there will be no yawning as the adventure doesn’t stop here. The wow factor and surprise is their amazing Zephyr rooftop bar that offers sensational rooftop views of Sydney and Darling Harbour that simply can’t be topped. Enjoy refreshing, made-to-order cocktails and light snacks for an evening nightcap at Hyatt Regency Sydney within an open-air setting. With deluxe amenities and modern décor, each stay is made extraordinary. Pop on by for a gentleman’s most dapper stay.
