We introduce to you Akhal [A-khal] an indigenous Moroccan word that means Earth. This name was chosen to honour the origins and makers of Akhal’s products. The name is even more meaningful as it communicates their commitment to eco-friendly, zero waste and cruelty-free organic skincare.
Two years ago Akhal’s founder Myriam Baissa embarked on a sabbatical journey to Morocco. She visited the Argan Forest and was shocked by what she found. “I was upset that these villagers were taken advantage of and that one of the most amazing forests in Morocco was treated so carelessly, so I decided to do something about it” – Myriam.
Akhal continuously strives and aims to provide organic, ethical, and sustainable skincare from the South of Morocco that harnesses the transformative powers of some of the most potent ingredients in the world whilst supporting Moroccan indigenous people, protecting the environment, and giving back to those in need.
